An extension was being built for the client on first inspection of this
garden. On completion of the extension there are two areas with
patio doors and therefore access and the views from both had to
The requirements were that it would be low maintenance whilst
having year round interest with areas to BBQ, sit and entertain.
Due to the slope of the original garden I decided to terrace it,
creating sandstone retaining walls to match the existing building.
Fencing was also erected on the upper area to give additional
privacy. All the areas have planting beds giving year round interest
using evergreen shrubs, specimen trees,bulbs and herbaceous
The patios were created using sawn sandstone which tied in well
with the original building and new extensions areas.
The front garden was also revamped incorporating existing plants,
removing pebbles and planting up with a large specimen holly and
additional planting to create an attractive entrance to this period
