An extension was being built for the client on first inspection of this garden. On completion of the extension there are two areas with patio doors and therefore access and the views from both had to considered.

The requirements were that it would be low maintenance whilst having year round interest with areas to BBQ, sit and entertain.

Due to the slope of the original garden I decided to terrace it, creating sandstone retaining walls to match the existing building. Fencing was also erected on the upper area to give additional privacy. All the areas have planting beds giving year round interest using evergreen shrubs, specimen trees, bulbs and herbaceous planting.

The patios were created using sawn sandstone which tied in well with the original building and new extensions areas.

The front garden was also revamped incorporating existing plants, removing pebbles and planting up with a large specimen holly and additional planting to create an attractive entrance to this period property.
